Ghost Child
"This book is a bit like the old Encyclopedia Brown detective stories,
with characters that investigate the mystery in a way that is
down-to-earth and very entertaining. Although it is fictional, it
touches on an important time in history in a way that is both
informative and interesting, and the storyline has just the right degree
of spine tingling chills, without being too scary for most children. I
particularly liked the "story within a story" aspect of it - I couldn't
wait to get to the end to find out more. Both adults and children alike
will enjoy this book. I certainly did!

Haunting of Sprucehaven Inn
"Like the first one, it is ideal for children from the age of 8 on up. It
has enough mystery and suspense to make it an exciting read, but
doesn't try to impose adult themes, language or anything really
frightening on young readers. The early part of the story has it's fair
share of humor and near calamity, which kept me smiling, if not laughing
out loud, but like "Ghost Child", the underlying tale also sheds light
on an important historical event in a sensitive and engaging way.
Even as an adult, it kept me interested until the end!
